Governors Island is open for visitors late May through late September. There are two Governors Island Ferry services. The Manhattan Ferry departs from the Battery Maritime Building every day of the week. The Brooklyn Ferry departs from Bridge Park's Pier 6 on Saturdays, Sundays, Memorial Day and Labor Day.

The Ferry runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Staten Island Ferry is the most reliable form of mass transit, with an on-time performance of over 96 percent.
