In 1998, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. acquired ITT Sheraton, outbidding Hilton. In 2000, Starwood re-launched Four Points by Sheraton, now targeted as a premier upscale five star hotel chain for business and leisure travelers.
