A Community Chanukah Celebration at Kings Bay Y Date: na 1224 Prospect Avenue Brooklyn The Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace invites the entire community to a cultural celebration of Hanukah featuring fun family activities including a glow-in-the-dark dance party with live DJ, a drum circle, storytelling, sing-a-long, arts and crafts, raffles and other activities for families! Free giveaways include dreidels, glow sticks, latkes, and toys for the kids. This free event will be held from 10am – 12pm.

Family Hanukah Happening at the Museum at Eldridge Street Date: na 12 Eldridge Street New York 212-219-0888 Wind, rain, and the passage of time nearly destroyed the Eldridge Street Synagogue. But just as the ancient Temple was rebuilt in the Hanukah story, the synagogue was also saved from destruction. Explore this Lower East Side landmark as they tell the Hanukah story together. You’ll eat, sing, spin dreidels and find out how a 19th century synagogue has become a 21st century treasure. $15 per family.

The Flying Latke 41 White Street Tribeca Dates: na The Flea Theater presents The Flying Latke, a heart-warming tale of Chanukah celebrations, holiday dysfunction and the miracle of a certain soaring potato pancake. It tells the story of young Danny Silverstein and his “meshugge” family as they celebrate the first night of Chanukah. Their holiday food fight sends a latke sailing out the window and over the city, causing a UFO frenzy that traps the Silversteins in their home with their extended family visiting and nothing but latkes to eat. This performance is recommended for children in grades K-6.

Hanukkah Family Day at the Jewish Museum Date: na 1109 5th Avenue at 92nd Street New York 212-423-3200 Construct a sculptural Hanukkah menorah with funky found objects—a JM tradition. Create a colorfully-patterned dreidel, dance to the tunes of Yosi and the Superdads and explore the Museum’s world-famous collection of Hanukkah lamps. Free with museum admission.

Hanukkah Lights at the 92nd Street Y Dates: na Lexington Avenue at 92nd Street New York 212-415-5500 Beginning at 5:30pm each day, there will be dancing, singing and Hanukkah chocolate gelt candies. This is a free event.

Lighting of the World's Largest Menorah Dates: na Grand Army Plaza Fifth Avenue at 59th Street New York Celebrate Hanukkah with the lighting of a 32-foot, 4000 pound menorah designed by artist Yaakov Agam.

The Ball Date: na Various Locations New York The Ball is considered the nation's biggest Jewish singles event. Over 4,000 people attend the New York party, held each year on December 24 at several different locations. This year, it coincides with Hanukkah.
