Flatiron / Gramercy New York City

Located south of 26th street is the Gramercy Park and Flatiron District. When the famous Flatiron Building opened back in 1903, it was considered the tallest building in the world. Nearby is the birthplace of Teddy Roosevelt, our 26th president.

Madison Square is a quiet park surrounded by old office buildings - if you like architecture plan to visit. You will find the Metropolitan Life Building here as well as the Appellate Court of New York City. See the Flatiron District Official Website & Gramercy Park Wikipedia Website.

Gramercy Park is full of 19th century statues and is beautiful, however it is only opened to residents of the area.
